Johnny Joe’s Rehab Routine

Johnny Joe isn’t out of the game yet. Since his injury last month, I created a rehab schedule to keep us on track while ensuring that he is recovering.

Week One
Reducine rub every morning, post-work 15 minute hose, and wrap the leg.

August 9 – Walk to the end of driveway and back. Do this twice and walk up the hill once.
August 10 – Walk twice up the hill.
August 11 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot sets for ten minutes. Walk up the hill once .
August 12 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot sets for ten minutes. Walk up the hill once .
August 
13 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot sets for 15 minutes. Walk up the hill once.
August 14 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot sets for ten minutes. Walk up the hill twice.

Week Two
Reducine rub every morning, post-work 15 minute hose, and wrap the leg.

August 16 – Walk down the road for 15 minutes.
August 17 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot sets for ten minutes. Walk up the hill twice.
August 18 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot sets for ten minutes. Canter for five minutes. Walk up the hill once.
August 19 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot-canter sets for ten minutes. Walk up the hill twice.
August 20 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot-canter sets for ten minutes. Walk up the hill twice.
August 21 – Hack in the ring doing walk-trot-canter sets for 15 minutes. Walk up the hill twice.

And so we carry on.
